Equipment Guidelines

Equipment Needed

  • Uniform
    • Jersey
    • Baseball Pants - long, dark grey
    • Baseball Hat
    • Belt, purple
    • Socks
  • Approved Bat - 2023 regulations here.
  • Batting Helmet - Purple, White, Grey, or Black
  • Cleats - metal cleats allowed at 13U and up
  • Batting Glove
  • Fielding Glove
  • Possibly Catchers Glove, First Baseman Glove
  • Possibly Catchers Gear
  • Sunglasses
  • Water bottle

Bats - The following pertains to the legality of bats in the MBL

9-11 year olds
Bats must be 2 ¼”, 2 ½”, 2 5/8”, or 2 ¾”  barrel diameter with unlimited weight differential and the USA or USSSA stamp.

12-13 year olds
Bats must be 2 ¼” barrel diameter with unlimited weight differential and the USA or USSSA stamp.

 12-13 year olds
Maximum diameter at the thickest part: 2 5/8” or 2 ¾” with minus 10 or less weight differential and the USA or USSSA stamp.

14 year olds
Maximum diameter at the thickest part: 2 5/8” or 2 ¾” with minus 5 weight differential with and the USA or USSSA stamp.

14 year olds
Maximum Diameter: 2 5/8” with a minus 3 weight differential and BBCOR stamp.

15 year olds
Maximum diameter at the thickest part: 2 5/8” or less with minus 3 weight differential and be BBCOR approved.

14/15A year olds
May use either the 14 or 15 year old bat regulations.

Any age can use BBCOR stamped bats
9 – 15 year olds
WOOD BATS ARE ALLOWED  In length:…………………………...36" or less

MBL Approved Catchers Gear

14 and 15 year olds - The new NOCSAE standard for chest protectors in catcher’s gear is required for 14AAA, 14AA, 15AAA, 15AA & 14/15A leagues.
